About

Caitlin Stobie is an author of poetry, literary criticism and fiction. Her latest book is a collaborative short story collection with Kharys Ateh Laue, titled The Smell of Blood and Other Stories (forthcoming with Karavan Press in 2024).

She is a winner of the Douglas Livingstone Creative Writing Competition, the Heather Drummond Memorial Prize for Poetry, and the Hammond House International Literary Prize, and was named by New Contrast as one of South Africa's ‘rising stars’ in poetry. Thin Slices was shortlisted for the Melita Hume Poetry Prize and the Rædleaf International Poetry Award. 


She is Lecturer in Creative Writing and Programme Leader for the BA English Literature with Creative Writing at the University of Leeds. She also works on the editorial team at Stand
